Already have a pool and fireplace but need an outdoor space that works year-round? That’s exactly what our recent customer in Owasso wanted! While we can add a fireplace as well, they loved their backyard setup but needed to replace the old pergola with something more functional—something they could enjoy no matter the season. That’s where we came in!
The Project: Custom Patio Transformation
We got to work on replacing the previous pergola with a beautiful, attached lean-to patio cover designed for all-weather use. Here’s how we did it:
- Demo: We carefully removed the old pergola, checking if any materials could be reused in the new design.
- New Patio Cover: Built a spacious 24’x16’ structure with solid Douglas Fir construction, 2×6 ceiling joists, and 4x6x8 posts. The tongue-and-groove pine ceiling adds a warm, inviting touch. We even attached the cover to the existing roof for a seamless look, with shingles that closely match the house.
- Staining: Finished the entire structure in the customer’s choice of Dark Walnut, giving the patio a rich, polished feel.
Making It Cozy with Electrical Upgrades
To really bring this space to life, we added:
- 6 recessed lights and installed two customer-provided ceiling fans for that perfect breeze.
- Additional outlets in the soffit and a handy GFCI outlet by the fireplace, making the patio functional and ready for any occasion.
